About Frecks
Yes. Frecks holds a plumbing licence (PL9232) and a gas fitting licence (GF015145), and is fully insured. All gas work is carried out by a licensed gas fitter to Australian standards.
You do. There's no call centre and no being passed between a salesperson and a stranger in a van. You talk to the people actually doing the work, so nothing gets lost in translation.
Ben has 18 years' experience on the tools as a licensed plumber and gas fitter, and established Frecks in 2016. It's a small, owner-run business based in Kwinana, focused on doing good work for local customers.
The everyday side of plumbing and gas: blocked drains, burst pipes, hot water systems, leaks, taps, toilets and gas fitting. Blocked drains are the specialty.
Yes. Ben owns and runs his own gear, including a sewer jetter, a CCTV sewer camera, ultrasonic leak detection, pipe locators and a mini excavator. The mini excavator is the difference, it means he can dig up, repair and replace pipework himself rather than subcontracting it out.
Around 80% of Ben's work comes from repeat customers and word-of-mouth referrals. Frecks doesn't pay for advertising, the business runs on reputation and doing right by the people it works for.
Blocked drains
We do it ourselves. Blocked drains are the work Frecks is known for. We clear them with the right gear and run a CCTV camera down the line, so there's no middleman and no mark-up.
Yes. We run a CCTV camera down the line to find the real cause rather than guess. That might be tree roots, a build-up of fat and debris, or a cracked or collapsed pipe.
The common culprits are tree roots getting into older clay pipes, fats and food scraps hardening in the line, wet wipes that don't break down, and pipe sections that have shifted or cracked over time.
Yes, where the blockage calls for it. Jetting clears the line properly rather than just punching a hole through, and we camera-check afterwards so you know it's clear.
If the camera shows a cracked or collapsed section, Ben can dig it up, repair or replace it and backfill himself with his own mini excavator. He'll replace enough of the failing line to fix it for good rather than patch the spot and have it come back.
Hot water systems
Yes. No-hot-water jobs are exactly the kind we prioritise. Give us a call, tell us what's happening, and we'll get you booked in and back up and running as soon as we can.
It depends on the age, type and fault. We give honest advice on whether a repair makes sense or a replacement is the smarter spend, and we won't push you toward a new unit you don't need.
Gas, electric storage, solar and heat pump systems. We repair what's there where it's worth it, and supply and install major-brand replacements when it's time.
Gas fitting
Yes. Ben is a licensed gas fitter (GF015145). That covers gas connections, pipework, appliance installs, leak detection and safety checks, all to Australian standards.
Turn the gas off at the meter, open windows and don't use anything that could spark, including light switches. Get everyone outside, then call us or your gas emergency line straight away.
Yes. Gas appliance installation is licensed work and we handle it properly, including connecting the appliance and checking it runs safely before we leave.
Pricing & booking
You get an upfront, honest price before any work starts, so there are no surprises on the invoice. Ben has set prices for the common jobs like drain cleans, leak detection, tap washers and toilet servicing, generally based on the first hour and the time on site. Because we're an owner-operator outfit without the big-company overheads, prices stay fair.
Yes. Ben offers a 2-year warranty on tap washers and servicing. For in-wall pipework, a warranty may not apply where the issue comes from the existing condition of the home's plumbing, and he'll always be upfront with you about that before any work starts.
